HAMA History
The Hospitality Asset Managers Association was initiated by a group of six hotel asset managers, with the first organized meeting taking place in 1991, in the United States. The original six asset managers served each other as a support and information sharing group meant to enhance the value of their assets. Established as a non-profit association, the organization continued to grow and in 1992 the Charter membership was created. The membership has grown steadily since its current 200 industry experts.
Through its members, as well as having established a strong networking and educational foundation, the organization continues to further advance its stated purpose to promote the enhancement of hotel asset values. Today the organization has a global presence, with chapters in the United States, Europe, Asia Pacific, and the Middle East. HAMA Middle East and Africa was founded in 2014 and currently has over 100 members.
